The set was all wrapped in plastic when I got it, but only one plastic survived when we move around them. I have never played golf with them. The heads surface seem to have some signs of hitting balls, maybe from factory tastings. I have head covers on them but there are still some minor Nickle marks on the heads, most have one mark, No. Not sure can be polished but I never try.A hard to find set.
