New Yamaha G1 & G3 Golf Car Cart CDI Box Plug & Play Replaces J10-85540-20-00

For sale is a CDI Box that fits Yamaha G1 & G3 2-stroke gas golf cars. I assemble these as a low cost alternative to the obsolete Yamaha part. These do not look as neat as an original but work all the same.

The wire colors match the harness colors and plug in with absolutely no cutting or splicing. There is 1 additional wire (the red wire with 2 plugs) that gets connected to the reverse alarm.

This is the only difference in wiring from the original CDI and the alarm still functions properly. Includes 1 new genuine NGK sparkplug specified by Yamaha for the G1 & G3. Don't be fooled by imitators. Premium 18AWG automotive copper wire matches OEM. Wire colors match OEM colors exactly. Although installation is simple, instructions are included. Assembled & ships from Holland, Minnesota, USA. Please test the other components before ordering. Below are the resistance readings for the various coils that produce the spark. Resistance tests aren't completely conclusive but are a good place to start. All these tests are performed on the cart's harness where the CDI box plugs into at room temperature.

Have the CDI box completely unplugged when doing these tests. Black Wire to Ground 0.

Black/White Wire to Black Wire Grounded with key "off" or throttle released; Open with key in Forward or Reverse and throttle depressed. Brown Wire to Black Wire 350. Orange Wire to Black Wire 1. White/Red Wire to Black Wire Open with key "off"; Grounded with key in "Forward"; 14 with key in "Reverse".

White/Green Wire to Black Wire Open with key "off"; 14 with key in "Forward"; Grounded with key in "Reverse". If any of your readings aren't close to these, check the wiring and that component first.
